Berkley Owls
Who Are They?...
Berkley owls were set up a number of years ago to rescue
and rehabilitate both captive bred and wild owls. It didn’t take long
before they ran out of space and after several moves found themselves on a
rented farm on the Mendips in the West Country. There they opened to the
public and things rolled along well for 2 years, then they started getting
intruders and it became impossible to stay open, they are now based here
in Lincolnshire where they have now found a safe haven for the whole of
the collection and where they can continue to work with the birds that
need their help and advise individuals and groups all across the world on
rescue and rehabilitation of owls. In all that time they have exhibited
and flown owls at hundreds of events throughout the whole of the UK. This
has raised the funds they need to carry on with their valuable work.
At many events like this they allow the public
to hold an owl for a small charge and at many shows throughout the country
they provide arena displays.
At night they illuminate the owls and it is
well worth a look
